The Cage is situated right in the middle of the village within the conservation area and we are proud to be the only genuine Freehouse left in the village.

We are open all day with breakfast served from 8.00am until noon. Food is served all day until 9.00pm - from a sandwich to an à la carte meal.

We stock a fine selection of real ales and wine and have a special covered extension for smokers. Lingfield Park Racecourse is the main attraction for the village. This makes us an ideal place to meet before or after racing and we are popular with both spectators, horse owners and trainers alike.

Racing, coach & golf parties are catered for as well as special private functions - just call and tell us your requirements. The Old Cage is a fine example of an English country inn, extensively refurbished with exposed beams, flagstone floors, and a fine collection of vintage artifacts. The original building dates from 1592 and is Grade II listed. We are proud of our pub and the food and drink we offer.

There is an inglenook and log fire in winter and flowers abound in summer. Three guest rooms are available for holiday breaks and overnight stays and car parking is available. Lingfield sits in that corner of Surrey nearest to both Kent and Sussex, which are both reached within 3 miles. With numerous places of historic and general interest in the area you will find the 'Cage' a useful stopping off point from which to explore further afield.
